Still on Election Petition Tribunals, the National and state Election tribunal sitting in Umuahia has nullified the election of Mr. Emeka Nnamani and equally barred him from contesting the rerun election.



According to the tribunal, Justice Sabiu Yahuzu, "the petitioner , Dr. Nwagba (of PDP) proved the allegation of non-qualification leveled against the respondent as his name was not in the register of his Eziama Ward of his party, APGA, and ought not to have participated in the election."

On the allegation that Nnamani forgd the certificate of Port Harcourt, the tribunal directed the police to investigate the matter and prosecute the respondent if found culpable.
it would be recalled that during the trial, the tribunal admitted in evidence a letter from the registrar of University of Port-Harcourt disowning Nnamani as a graduate of the University.
