When Meat and Cancer Commingle, WHO speaks

Reports from the world health Organization  has it that processed meats such as Bacon and ham are capable of causing cancer. According to the report, 50g of processed meat a day increases the chances of developing colorectal cancer by 18%. 


Also, the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) has warned that eating a  ridiculous amount of red meat can cause bowel cancer.

The above is not to deny the health benefits of red meat which inter alia  include provison of vital nutrients such as protein, vitamins and minerals such as iron and zinc.

However, it is important for the public to understand that  processed meat such as smoked or salted meat increase the risk of cancer.
