Thank You: Enugu

I do not write for the government, but for mankind and the experiences we share.

Never has a place been so peaceful and loveable yet be an abode to ever hustling Nigerians. It is not my first time of visiting Enugu, but this time, I spent over 50 days in the coal city. and here is my rating:

Security: The state appears to be well secured despite the absence of harassing police officer or miltary men. Never was a bus or car conveying me stopped for an unwaranted check. through out my stay, i was neither witness to a street fight nor a more heinous crime.

Entertainment: If  there is one thing about the coal city, its the ubiquity of evening hangouts. There are lots of bars and restaurant where you can spend the evening after work. and these bars provide comedy and dance displays et al. however, they are well thronged by prostitutes.

Roads: Using Nigerian standard, i woud rate the roads in Enugu 'A'. The road networks are continually maintained by the givernment. within my first month, the Traffic lights installed by the previous adminstration were fully functional. however the traffic light at New Heaven Junction , New Heaven Road, Ogui road have stopped working and it seems the new government is yet to note the malaise.

Electricity: Thumbs up to EDDC in Enugu state. while i stayed at presidential road, i enyoyed power supply for an average of over 20 hours a day. Really did i have to think where to charge my phone. little wonder my host had no generator!

Further review may come later. Goodbye Enugu...Hope to return someday soon.
