Love Vs Like… What’s the difference?

So. I get this call from a friend asking me what’s the difference between the person you like and the person you love..
Here went my reply:
Like is a substantial
evidence of affinity which is ascribed to an entity as pertaining to someone or something. In essence, like is a form of predilection for a person which is aroused because of a certain feature or ability of the person. You like something or someone because it/s/he is beautiful, tall, elegant, well mannered, capable of an action etc. That’s what like means. What were you thinking?

….And what is love? Love is that tingly feeling that makes you have butterflies in your tummy.

Naah! Love is way more than that. Love is an affection for the enclosure of a whole without the possibility of disintegration. You feel me? Love is the force which allows us to be attracted to someone simply because of their being without rejecting any part and path of the person. It is that feeling that binds you to someone in all their goodness and badness, beauty and ugliness, virtues and vices, actions and inactions. Because of this, It is nearly impossible to find out the reason why you love someone.

Here is a practical example, why do your parents love you? And why does your mom or dad like you? The answers are different. Because the words are different. Still on the matter, have you pondered why you love your brothers and sisters? And why you like the woman who sells food down the street?

Now that you know the difference between Love and Like, Go ahead and list all the people you like and the reasons for which you like them, and separate them from the people you love.

NB: It is possible to like someone you love and also possible to Love someone you do not like. Neither encapsulates the other.
